Information Resource Management (IRM)

The purpose of the IRM Office is to provide technology resources management, support and services for the Office of Technology Integration (OTI) and the campus as a whole.

  • The IRM Office performs as a liaison with, and is responsible for, regular and ad hoc reporting to the Florida Board of Education and other entities on technology related issues. Production of the Annual Performance Report on IRM is the responsibility of the IRM Office.

  • The Office reviews and approves all technology acquisitions for the University whose cost is $20K or above and provides technology reviews for building programs.

  • Legislative House and Senate proposals on technology related issues are reviewed and suggestions made, for their potential effect on the University.

  • The IRM Office works with the University IRM Coordinators group to provide critical input from departments and offices across campus both academic and administrative.

  • Oversight and follow-up of auditing related activities are the responsibility of the IRM Office.

  • The IRM Office also performs the duties of the Information Security Manager for the University. (See www.security.fsu.edu)

  • The IRM chairs the security and ethics subcommittee of the faculty senate computer information resource committee.

  • The IRM Office is responsible for reviewing campus-wide building projects and managing the secured access functions to the work areas.

  • The IRM Office is responsible for developing and coordinating bid documents for the acquisition of technology resources. General contract management including the drafting and negotiation of agreements with vendors, legal and purchasing offices is performed.

  • Additionally, other special technology related project management duties are performed as needed.
