Welcome to the Data Warehouse

The University Data Warehouse provides easy and timely access to FSU Operational and Official Data for both Administrative and Academic Departments. The data is stored in Relational Database structures for easy linking, accessing, ad-hoc querying, reporting, and downloading.

You can access the data from your own desktop computer via an ODBC driver using one of the following tools:

The data in the Data Warehouse is organized into different datamarts, with access to each datamart controlled by the appropriate Data Custodian. Each datamart can be accessed using a "Full View" or using a "Partial View", as approved by the Data Custodian. "Full Views" provide more information from a datamart and "Partial Views" provide less information from the same datamart. Click below to review more information about each datamart.

When you have determined which data views are appropriate for your work, complete the Request for Data Warehouse Access form:

You will receive a confirmation email when the Data Custodians have approved your request and the Database Administrator has authorized your userid.

EMPLOYEE Data
Loaded after each payroll cycle. Includes data loaded since 1996 and is retained indefinitely.

FINANCIAL Data
Loaded each night. Includes the most recent five years of data.

- The new (7-1-2002) Financial universe has 5 years of history.
Everyone is given full view access to the data.

OFFICIAL REPORTING Data
The "Official Data" universe consists of student academic records (including some restricted information), faculty time and effort reporting data, student course information. This is point in time data taken at the end of each academic term and is loaded into the University Data Warehouse after it has been accepted by the Board of Regents. If you need access to this data, please call Liz Laurienzo at 644-4791 prior to submitting the Data Warehouse Access form.
Data is loaded each semester, after the data is accepted by the Board of Regents, and includes the most recent five years of data.

STUDENTS Data
Loaded nightly. Includes information about all students, and is retained for up to 5 years. The STUDENTS Data can be requested for All Students, for Students in a specific department, or for Students in a range of department numbers.

ENROLLMENT Data
Loaded nightly. Includes course information since 1995 and is retained for up to 5 years. The ENROLLMENT Data can be requested for All Departments, for Students in a specific department, or for Students in a range of department numbers.
